Jo Kellett is a member of The international Federation of Professional Aromatherapists and a Certified Infant Massage Instructor.I received my Diploma of Holistic Aromatherapy from the Tisserand Institute in 1996, and went on to run a practice at the Portland Hospital in London offering aromatherapy and yoga for women in pregnancy. I also trained to be an infant massage teacher with the International Association of Infant Massage in 1998, and in 1999 I returned to the Tisserand Institute to teach aromatherapy in pregnancy on their diploma course and Essential Oil Therapeutics. I am currently teaching on the Aromatherapy Diploma at Neal’s Yard and teach massage at The Institute of Traditional Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy. I have published several articles on aromatherapy in Pregnancy and have spoken at proffessional conferences on the same subject.
Throughout both my pregnancies I extensively used essential oils; receiving aromatherapy at this special time is a powerful experience. Not only do you have someone else taking care of you, it can also alleviate various pregnancy symptoms from stretch marks to heartburn and help with ever changing emotions and mood swings. I also used the oils during labour and for postnatal care. Strict guidelines are followed in the choice of the essential oils and each treatment will be tailored to your individual needs.
Baby massage is such a lovely way to enhance the bonding process, bringing a sense of calm and relaxation to both you and your baby. I massaged both my babies and they still ask for it on a regular basis, even though they are now 11 and 7 years old!
